Embroidery digitizing converts artwork into a machine-readable stitch file that controls every needle movement during embroidery production. A professional digitizer manually maps stitch paths, density, underlay, and direction in specialized software like Wilcom V9 or E2 to match specific fabric types and machine capabilities. The output is a production-ready file in formats such as DST for Tajima machines, PES for Brother machines, EMB for editable Wilcom files, or JEF for Janome machines. Manual digitizing ensures designs run efficiently without thread breaks, registration shifts, or density errors that occur with automated conversion software.
We support all major commercial and home embroidery machines: Tajima, Brother, Barudan, Janome, Melco, Happy, ZSK, SWF, Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Bernina, Singer, and Babylock. Specify your machine brand and model when ordering, and we deliver the correct format automatically. DST format works on most commercial multi-head machines including Tajima and Barudan. PES format is standard for Brother and Babylock machines. JEF format is used by Janome. VP3 format is for Husqvarna Viking. We deliver 20+ embroidery file formats at no extra cost, including EMB editable source files for customers who own Wilcom software.

No, we never use auto-digitizing software on any order. Every embroidery file is built 100% manually in Wilcom V9 and E2 by one of our 38 expert digitizers. Each stitch path, underlay type, density setting, pull compensation value, and stitch direction is set by hand for the specific fabric and design requirements. We do not use Wilcom's auto-digitizing features, auto fonts, batch processing, or any automated stitch generation tools regardless of order price or turnaround speed. Manual digitizing produces clean production files that run correctly on the first sew-out, while auto-digitized files frequently fail with incorrect density, missing underlay, and unreadable small text.
Auto-digitizing uses software algorithms to automatically convert images into embroidery stitches with no human control over density, underlay, or stitch direction. Manual digitizing is built stitch-by-stitch by a professional digitizer who hand-sets every parameter for the specific design and fabric type. Auto-digitized files produce common failures: incorrect density causing fabric puckering, missing underlay leading to registration shifts, improperly angled stitches creating thread nesting, and unreadable small text below 4mm. Manual digitizing produces production-ready files that run clean on the first sew-out with proper density for the fabric, correct underlay for stability, optimized stitch angles to prevent distortion, and legible small lettering down to 3mm when using appropriate fonts.
Upload your artwork through our order form or email it to info@sassydigitizing.com. We accept JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, and PSD files. If your file quality is low, upload it anyway; we review every file and contact you if a higher-resolution version is needed before starting. Even phone photos and sketches are workable.
Cap and left-chest logo digitizing is a flat $15. Jacket back digitizing starts at $20 and goes up to $75 based on size and complexity. Other designs are $1 per 1,000 stitches with a $5 minimum. Vector art conversion starts at $10. No setup fees. Free unlimited revisions.
Yes, we digitize small lettering down to 3mm in height using precise column widths and density control in Wilcom V9 and E2. Every letterform is hand-built with proper stitch angles, correct underlay for registration, and optimized density to prevent thread buildup in tight spaces. Bold sans-serif fonts like Arial Bold, Helvetica Bold, or Futura Bold produce the cleanest results at 3mm to 5mm heights. Script fonts and serif fonts require minimum 6mm height for legible embroidery. We specialize in corporate taglines, employee names on uniforms, small branding text on left chest logos, and monogram digitizing for shirts, towels, robes, and promotional items. Text below 3mm cannot be reliably embroidered on any commercial or home embroidery machine regardless of digitizing quality due to physical needle and thread diameter limitations.
