Spot Color Channel Separation

Screen printing needs each ink color separated into its own spot color channel for film. We manually split your art into Pantone spot colors, add trapping to avoid press gaps, and label channels with Pantone numbers for accurate ink mixing.

Halftone Screen Optimization

Photos and gradients need halftone screens with the right line counts and angles to avoid moiré. We use proper 45° CMYK channel offsets and set LPI based on mesh count and substrate. Halftones are created as vectors for sharp film output at any resolution.

Sublimation Transfer Compatibility

Dye sublimation transfers need full CMYK profiles and ICC color management for polyester. We create vector art with proper color density, organize elements for weeding/placement, and export files compatible with Sawgrass, Epson, and Ricoh workflows.

How many colors can you separate for screen printing?

We separate designs from single-color spot printing to unlimited color process printing based on your requirements. Most common requests are 1 to 4 spot colors, 4-color CMYK process for photographic designs, and simulated process separations with 6 to 12 colors for complex artwork.

Do you provide underbase white separation for dark garments?

Yes, underbase white separation is included at no extra charge. We calculate proper white ink coverage based on opacity, ink type, and substrate darkness. The white underbase is delivered as a dedicated spot color channel that prints first in your screen sequence.

What halftone LPI should I request for my mesh count?

General rule: divide your mesh count by 4 to get maximum LPI. Example: 156 mesh supports ~39 LPI. We typically recommend 35 LPI for 110 mesh, 45 LPI for 156 mesh, and 55 LPI for 230 mesh screens.

How much does screen print color separation cost?

Single-color designs start at $10. 2 to 4 color separations range from $15 to $30. Complex simulated process separations with 6+ colors range from $35 to $75 depending on detail level.

Can you match specific Pantone colors for ink mixing?

Yes, we assign precise Pantone PMS values to every spot color based on your requirements. You can provide brand Pantone codes and we will match them accurately in the separation file.

Will your separated files work with my RIP software?

Yes, our files are tested in AccuRIP, FilmMaker, FastRIP and other major systems to ensure correct spot color recognition, halftone rendering, and film output compatibility.
