DTF transfers require a separated white underbase layer printed first onto film, followed by CMYK color passes, then powder adhesive application and heat curing to complete the transfer. DTG printing applies white ink pretreatment directly onto garment fabric, followed by CMYK color in a single pass during the printing process. Both methods require proper CMYK gamut mapping to match textile ink chemistry, but DTF needs explicitly separated Pantone White spot color channels on dedicated layers while DTG uses transparency-based white ink placement calculated from artwork opacity.
